Campaign Results

A B2B payment orchestration SaaS platform, headquartered in Portugal and serving global markets, engaged VirtuWise to fix a stalled organic channel. Strong brand-term rankings were masking a deeper problem: the commercial pages that should have driven qualified pipeline sat at positions 20-30, and the blog generated impressions without converting. Over five months, VirtuWise resolved keyword cannibalization across competing URLs, rebuilt content around real buyer scenarios instead of generic definitions, integrated conversion elements directly into SEO-optimized pages, rebuilt internal linking to route authority toward commercial clusters, and layered in a region-specific content strategy for APAC, MENA, and LATAM. Priority pages moved into the top 5 for payment-orchestration queries, organic MQLs doubled, and commercial pages picked up 188,000 additional impressions — 58,000 of them in the US alone.

Market Challenge

At the outset, the site held positions 1-3 for several core terms — a result that masked a deeper problem. The primary landing page for payment orchestration sat at positions 20-30. Blog content followed generic "what is" formats that rarely reflected real buyer problems. The technical foundation was reasonably sound, but structural issues capped growth: multiple pages competed for the same queries, informational content generated impressions without helping prospects decide, commercial pages lacked visible CTAs and trust signals, internal linking didn't route enough authority to revenue-driving pages, and the content strategy made no distinction between regions with very different demand and regulatory conditions.

Strategic Framework

Root Cause

Several product and informational pages ranked for identical queries, splitting relevance and authority signals between them instead of consolidating around one URL per intent. Rather than merging content automatically, VirtuWise mapped queries to URLs, tested indexation scenarios, and tracked the impact on rankings and impressions before consolidating signals onto the strongest page for each cluster.

Content Approach

Existing articles were optimized for search phrasing but skipped the buyer's actual decision path. Content was rebuilt around practical scenarios — reducing failed payments, managing multiple payment providers, intelligent transaction routing, fraud prevention, and region-specific infrastructure and regulatory requirements — replacing abstract feature descriptions with material tied to concrete business outcomes.

Engagement Scope

The client engaged VirtuWise under a structured SEO & AEO framework focused on converting organic search into a stable MQL channel.

  • Keyword cannibalization audit and resolution
  • Content restructuring around buyer scenarios
  • On-page CRO integrated directly into SEO pages
  • Internal linking architecture rebuilt around commercial clusters
  • Regional content strategy for APAC, MENA, and LATAM

This system replaced a stalled, blog-heavy content program with a structured engine tying organic visibility directly to qualified pipeline.

Execution Engine

01

Cannibalization Resolution

Mapped overlapping URLs targeting identical queries, tested which pages should stay indexed, and consolidated ranking signals onto one authoritative page per intent. The primary commercial page moved out of the 20-30 range into the top 5 once internal competition was removed.

02

Content Restructuring

Replaced generic "what is" templates with scenario-driven articles addressing real implementation concerns and pain points, localized for APAC, Europe, MENA, and LATAM audiences and their specific regulatory contexts.

03

SEO + CRO Integration

Added prominent CTAs, trust signals, and FAQ schema directly to priority pages, then refined them iteratively based on how changes affected visibility, clicks, and lead volume — not as a one-time pass.

04

Internal Linking Architecture

Rebuilt links to route authority toward commercial pages, connecting informational content to the product pages it should support and forming topic clusters reinforcing key commercial URLs.

05

Regional Expansion

Shifted from uniform global targeting to regional content clusters for APAC, MENA, and LATAM, adapting topics and messaging to local regulation, payment preferences, and search behavior in markets where competitors had not yet built strong topical visibility.

Why It Worked

Fixing site structure before adding new content
Assigning one commercial intent to one priority page
Tying informational content directly to real buyer scenarios
Integrating CRO into SEO pages instead of treating them separately
Directing internal link equity into commercial clusters
Running short test-and-verify cycles instead of acting on assumptions
